Our project experience
50+ wind farms and 10+ solar projects across six countries — biodiversity and ESIA to lender standard, delivered from Romania.

Across more than 50 wind farms and 10 solar projects in six countries — together with road and rail infrastructure and mining projects — Biodiversity has delivered biodiversity assessment and ESIA to both lender and regulatory standards. Much of our work is covered by confidentiality agreements with developers and financiers, so we present our experience by sector and geography rather than by named client.
Wind energy — 50+ projects
For wind farms we deliver the full assessment lifecycle: pre-construction bird and bat monitoring, multi-season biodiversity baselines, Appropriate Assessment for Natura 2000 sites, lender-standard ESIA, management plans, and post-construction monitoring once turbines are operating.
Solar energy — 10+ projects
For solar (photovoltaic) projects we deliver biodiversity baselines, Appropriate Assessment where protected sites are affected, ESIA, and biodiversity management plans — assessing impacts on habitats, herpetofauna, birds and other taxa across the project footprint.
Infrastructure & extractives
Beyond renewable energy, we have delivered biodiversity and ESIA work for linear infrastructure — road and rail — and for the mining and extractives sector. These projects often carry significant habitat impacts, trigger Critical Habitat Assessment under IFC PS6 and require detailed Natura 2000 evaluation — the same lender-standard methodology we apply to wind and solar.
Representative engagements
Anonymised in line with our confidentiality agreements — described by sector, region and scope, not by named client.
Multi-year post-construction bird and bat monitoring across a cluster of operational wind farms on the internationally important Via Pontica flyway, including collision-risk assessment.
Pre-construction biodiversity baselines and Natura 2000 Appropriate Assessment for wind farms across several counties — birds, mammals, bats, amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates.
Biodiversity baselines and ESIA biodiversity chapters for photovoltaic and agri-PV parks, assessing habitats, herpetofauna and avifauna across the project footprint.
Multi-season avifauna and biodiversity studies plus construction-phase monitoring for a major motorway section, covering all faunal groups.
Multi-year, multi-section construction-phase biodiversity monitoring along a Corridor IV railway rehabilitation.
Appropriate Assessment and biodiversity research for a quarry, gas pipelines, gas extraction wells and a polymetallic-ore development, including invasive-species management.
Scientific baseline studies, habitat and species mapping, conservation-status assessment and management plans for numerous SPAs and SCIs across Romania.
Local roots, regional reach
Every project is delivered bilingually and built to satisfy both international lenders and the relevant national authorities.
Projects — frequently asked
Why don’t you name your clients?
Most of our renewable-energy work is subject to confidentiality agreements with developers and financiers. We present our experience by sector and country instead.
What size of project do you work on?
From single sites to large multi-turbine wind farms and utility-scale solar — survey design and effort are scaled to the project.
